'The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration.' - Claude Monet

Please send us your top tips for anything baby related so that we can share the wealth here. Tip of the week gets a 5% discount off their next shop!

TIP OF THE WEEK:
Get your baby to ‘play’ recycling so that its second nature to them as they grow up.

BABY SKINCARE & NAPPIES:

Babies skin absorbs water more easily than an adults skin so are more vulnerable to irritants in some skincare products.

Top Tip: Organic olive oil makes a good wipe for stuck on stuff on babies skin and nappy area and is a great moisturizer.

Top Tip: Natural sponges are gentle on the skin, biodegradable and compostable.

FEEDING TIPS:

Top Tip: Nettle and Fennel tea really helps to increase the supply of breastmilk.

Top Tip: Once your baby starts on solids, try feeding them a little porridge just before bedtime. I found it helped them stay asleep for much longer. Plum porridge with quinoa helps them feel full for even longer.

Top Tip: Plasticizers which make plastic flexible can be transferred to humans when they are heated to high temperatures and can scramble normal hormone function. Glass is a greener choice.

HOUSEHOLD TIPS:

It is sometimes too scary to think about climate change and the affect it might have on our children's children but guess what - once we hold the purse strings we have the power to buy products that have less impact - so baby by baby, parent by parent, we can reduce the amount of pollution from man-made chemicals and have cleaner fresher air, water and soil!

Top Tip: Get your baby to ‘play’ recycling so that its second nature to them as they grow up.

Top Tip: Give your drains a great clean with bicarbonate of soda followed a few minutes later by white vinegar. The foam it creates gives a sparkling clean and removes all clog.

Top Tip: As you will probably be doing more washing for a while, you can reduce your impact by using eco-friendly washing powder.

Top Tip: Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to your washing machine to get a fantastic but subtle scent on your clothes, my favourites are Ylang Ylang or Lavender.

Top Tips on Green Cleaners:

- White vinegar: dilute in water and wipe on glass and shiny surfaces or neat to unclog showers and sinks, add to washing machine instead of conditioner for a fabulously soft finish (with no smell of vinegar!).

- Lemon Juice is a great degreaser

- Micro fibre cloths don’t need any solvents, you just dampen and rub to get rid of grease and stubborn stains

- Bicarbonate of soda – mix into a paste to shine sinks and unclog drains, sprinkle on carpets to clean and nuetralise odours, add a little bowl to the fridge to neutralise odours there.

- Tea tree oil mixed in water is a great anti-bactierial spray for the loo seat, counter tops etc
