thinkbaby have created the chart below to help you better make decisions relating to the flow rate that best suits your little one. All children feed at different rates, so you may find that your child requires greater or possibly slower rates than what we recommend. All feeding systems on the market are different. Moving from one company’s feeding system to another may require some experimentation. thinkbaby have consulted with lactation specialists and parents to identify the suggested guidelines. The flow rates and age ranges are suggested ranges. Parent’s will have to best determine the desired feeding rate of their little ones.

The new cross cut design allows your child to determine when they are ready to feed. By gently applying pressure to the nipple, the cross cut opens to allow the flow of fluid. We have found that this design also minimizes fluid coming out when the bottle is held upside down and is best suited for travel. Numbers on the nipple correspond to testing.

* A note for any type of silicone nipples used. Silicone nipples are designed to last 2 to 3 months. They should be discarded if they show signs of wear and tear. Never give the nipple to a baby as a play toy. Always supervise your child during feeding. thinkbaby also recommends not overtightening the collar of the bottle, as this will restrict airflow back into the bottle.

A Little Bit About thinkbaby:
thinkbaby use a medical grade type of plastic, which they have specifically formulated to be free of: PVC, BPA (bisphenol-A), nitrosamines, lead and phthalates. You will never find any of these chemicals in any part of the thinkbaby product lines. The anti-colic system is built into the silicone nipple. This means that there aren’t a bunch of parts to get lost or damaged.  They also do not use plastic windows into thier products. Most of these are made from PVC and therefore could leave a residue on the bottle. Second, they feel it unnecessarily adds to the plastic footprint. Finally, packaging is recycled paperboard.

What is BPA?
Bisphenol-A, more commonly known as BPA, is a chemical used across the globe and found in many every-day products, including plastic baby bottles. 
The danger BPA can impose on babies is not to be taken lightly. Compelling scientific research highlights links between even very low levels of BPA and chronic conditions such as breast cancer, prostrate cancer, Type II Diabetes, Obesity and a myriad of developmental disorders. Such information has encouraged action against BPA from many organisations including the Canadian Government, which in 2009 imposed a ban on the use of BPA in polycarbonate baby bottles.
